Mock-Up Studies

Our mock-up studies are a central component of the design phase and an important step before the detailed design of an isolator.

These studies take place during the design phase and make it possible to check operating procedures and process sequences at an early stage. The goal is to ensure optimal ergonomics of the isolator and to guarantee a smooth and fast start of production.

1:1 models of the isolator are created as part of the mock-up studies. These models are intensively reviewed and tested together with end users and experts on the customer side. However, creating a mock-up is an extremely complex and elaborate process that requires the utmost precision.

What makes a mock-up so elaborate?

  • Detailed customization: Each mock-up is individually manufactured to scale in a 1:1 design, which requires the consideration of all customer-specific requirements.
  • Variety of materials: Most components are made of high-quality metal materials to ensure a realistic simulation. At the same time, variable parts are flexibly manufactured from materials such as cardboard to make it easier to implement changes and adjustments.
  • Comprehensive tests and inspections: During the mock-up study, every detail is measured and documented to ensure that the final isolator meets the highest standards.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: Teams from technical project management, the qualification department, research & development (R&D) and sales are involved in the mock-up study. This close collaboration between all experts ensures that all aspects of the isolator are taken into account.

Once the mock-up study is complete, detailed documentation is created, containing all findings, adaptations and measurement results. This is signed by all parties involved and serves as a central record of the decisions made.

Why is the effort justified?

A mock-up is more than just a model:

  • It is used to identify errors and problems at an early stage, before they can occur in the detailed design or production – thus avoiding later corrections and significant additional costs.
  • Precise preparation ensures a smooth start to production, saving time and costs in manufacturing.
  • It guarantees optimal ergonomics for the end user, increasing efficiency and satisfaction in subsequent operation.

We understand that the creation of a mock-up is associated with costs. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that the benefits and long-term savings from avoiding errors and optimizing at an early stage more than justify this investment.
